Grade 1-3-Two attractive, but not very useful series entries. They offer excellent-quality photography and design, but little instruction. In Dress Up, the projects as pictured-bands, bracelets, and masks-are far beyond the capability of the intended audiences. In Fun Food, readers are told to "Think about colors and tastes that will go together." Virtually none of the food stuffs used are identified. This title is not a cookbook, but rather it is intended to be used by adults working with young children who want to decorate already prepared foods. Unfortunately, these youngsters will not be able to replicate the illustrated items by themselves. With so many craft and cooking guides on the market, these are luxury items. Priscilla Hershberger's Make Costumes (North Light, 1992), Cheryl Owen's My Naturecrafts Book (Little, 1993), and Angela Wilkes's My First Cookbook (Knopf, 1989) offer more complete projects that require minimum supervision.
