Synopsis
The story of Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, formed in 1848 by five painters, William Holman Hunt, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais, James Collinson and Frederick Stephens, the sculptor Thomas Woolner, and writer, William Michael Rossetti. At one time or other all lived and worked near or in Oxford. Their aim: "...to return to early days ... draw what they see or what they suppose might have been the actual faces of the scene ... irrespective of any conventional rules of picture making."
