Synopsis
Living in a grimy Northern tenement with her elder sister Lizzie, Rose Kimberley uses her nimble seamstress' fingers to renovate clothes for her cousin Charlie's market stall. In a lucky moment, her work is noticed by Mr. Rosenburg, who encourages Rose to bring her designs to London. With Lizzie and the strong but romantic Charlie at her side, Rose joins the world of high fashion. Surviving the Depression and World War II, Rose becomes an established figure in haute couture, and enjoys a happy marriage - but will Lizzie's marriage to tycoon Alex de Veer be as happy?
