About the Author
ROBERT L CARTER BSc(Econ), D Phil, FCII, FIRM, OBE, Emeritus Professor of Insurance Studies, University of Nottingham, Norwich Union Professor of Insurance Studies 1975-1990. Worked in the insurance industry 1948-1963. Lecturer in Insurance and Economics, Brighton College of Technology (now Brighton University) 1963-1969, moved to University of Nottingham 1969. Author and Editor of many books and articles. Consultant to the ABI, Lloyd's, OECD, the World Bank, LAUTRO. Member of Council of the Insurance Ombudsman Bureau 1981-1993, Government nominee, Insurance Brokers Registration Council 1977-1992.
