Dr Alessandra Piontelli is an Associate Member of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society. She trained in medicine and neuropsychiatry in Italy and as a child psychotherapist in England where she became part of the teaching staff of the Tavistock Clinic in London.
Each case study begins by describing the initial contact with the two mothers, before going on to describe the other members of the families. The development of each situation is traced through the years, as is the development of each baby under observation. Finally, the two cases are reviewed together and some general conclusions are drawn.These case studies are at times upsetting, but equally fascinating reading.
