Besides listing basic bibliographic information, the entries also include useful descriptive annotations. Since The New Walford is especially aimed at the newcomer, it serves as a good first-stop resource for students and researchers beginning their research in these selected fields. Most sources are from the U.S. and the UK and are primarily in English. The work is well designed and indexed, with superb content. Nevertheless, a real-world concern intrudes: the volume is exorbitantly priced, restricting the purchase to major public library systems and large academic libraries. --Donald Altschiller
