Synopsis
This is a personal account of a conflict that began as a smash and grab raid masquerading as the righting of a historical wrong, and ended as a fudge presented as a moral victory. The book describes life in the desert in the five-month period before the war began, and includes first-hand reportage of the war and the liberation of Kuwait, where the author returned at the head of a column of Kuwaiti tanks. Parick Bishop is the co-author of "The Winter War - The Falklands" and author of "The Provisional IRA".
