Between 1885 and 1889, Vincent van Gogh created more than 40 self-portraits, all of which are included in this unique collection. Art historian Bernard Denvir provides brief descriptions and includes excerpts from van Gogh's personal diaries and correspondence. Also included are a detailed family tree, a biographical index, and a chronology of the artist's life. Paintings of van Gogh by Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin, Pissarro, and other contemporaries complement this 144-page volume.
