About the Author
Richard Appleton MBBS, DCH, MA (OXON), FRCP, FRCPH is Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He is Honorary Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Child Health at the University of Liverpool. In 1995 the epilepsy team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital was voted “Epilepsy Team of the Year”. Richard also achieved Hospital Doctor of the Year award in the same year. Brian Chappell Mphil, BEd is National Manager, Neuroeducation, at York District Hospital, and Project Manager at the Centre for Community Neurological Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University. He is a former Director of Information and Training at the UK Epilepsy. Margaret Beirne ECNEB is Epilepsy Specialist Nurse at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
