Hubert Moore’s previous collection, Namesakes (Enitharmon, 1988) was described in The Sunday Times as a collection of quiet personal responses to ordinary quotidian things ... teasing out deeper significances.’ The stock of Rolling Stock is ordinary too families, generations but there’s also an interest in how stock, in its various forms, rolls forward and in the surprising places it gets to.

Hubert Moore is an addicted teacher. His addiction started at Rose Lane Secondary School, Biggleswade. He then taught at Grahamstown, South Africa, and Sherborne in Dorset, before moving to his present job, Head of English at Cranbrook School, Kent. His previous collections are Down by a Bicycle (Hippopotamus Press, 1980), Namesakes and Rolling Stock (Enitharmon, 1988 and 1991).
'John Moat's particular genius lies in his ability to dream - that is the alchemy of his work, by extension, and it is an emphasis I can only applaud. His poetry is deep in the true sense - it is a poetry of feeling depth: of mystery and soul."Jay Ramsay
