Synopsis
In this fascinating study, Holbrook draws on Carroll's own letters, as well as the work of 20th-century psychoanalysts, to step inside Alice's looking glass and examine what the books reveal about the author's own desires and conflicts and his relationships with those around him. The result is a warm, highly sympathetic, and convincing portrait of C. H. Dodgson, a.k.a. Lewis Carroll, as the author applies his well-known psychobiographical analysis to the symbolism contained in Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, The Wasp in the Wig, and Jabberwocky. Included are four photographs taken by Carroll himself and two Carroll drawings.

About the Author
