Thomas Madden is a Montana native with a long interest in the history of Native American peoples. He studied at the University of Montana, where he was a student of Richard Hugo, and at the University of Oregon, where he earned a doctorate in English. He taught English at Eastern Oregon Univ. where he retired in 2000. "Graves in Wheat" was published by Ice River Press in 1998.
