Synopsis

The activities in Thoughtworks help students learn to work together effectively to solve problems. They promote teamwork, creative thinking and decision making. Each ThoughtWorks activity begins with a situation involving a problem. Students brainstorm a list of questions that should be answered in order to solve the problem. Then, in small groups, they persuade, analyze and gather and interpret data in order to come up with a solution. The plan for each activity is tightly structured, but the results can be highly creative and rich in surprises. The activities can be used to supplement nearly any classroom curriculum, grades 5-9.
