From the Back Cover

We know the ties that bind are the same ones that come undone, but here is a collection of poems to remind us that each unraveling is unique and that each can be an occasion for a vital utterance. Poignant, wry, bitter, or grateful, the poems that make up SPLIT VERSE are brave valedictions to the hope of romance, testimonies to the reputation of poetry as the best and oldest record of human emotion.

--Billy Collins, author of QUESTIONS ABOUT ANGELS

SPLIT VERSE is poetry of uncompromised insight and beauty that reflects the emotional, spiritual, and practical realities of making a transition out of an intimate relationship. In the particularities of these poets' unique experiences, we find the histories of all of our relationships, all our transitions, from beginnings to endings to new beginnings.

--Diane Vaughan, author of UNCOUPLING: TURNING POINTS IN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS
