Synopsis

Kailouie and the Snorkel Monster is a Hawaiian Adventure about the animals of the sea. Children will learn the importance of mutual respect between mankind and animals as they are enjoying the tale of a little reef fish who goes on an adventure. While living in Hawaii, Mike Daciek often snorkeled in Kailua Bay. It was on one such occasion that he discovered a small reef fish floating in a Styrofoam cup. The adventure of the little fish is presented in this brightly illustrated book, which incorporates authentic Hawaiian phrases and mythology to create an exciting tale. This book is recommended for children ages 3-13.

About the Author

Michael R. Daciek, born in Bartley, West Virginia has lived in eleven states and two foreign countries. His overlapping careers as a commercial airline and military pilot, coupled with his large family, five children and 9 grandchildren, provide him with the experiences reqired to write about flying and children. He served twenty-one years in the United States Air Force as an officer and pilot retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His second retirement occurred in 1993 from Continental Airlines where he last flew as a B-727 Captain. Mike has written and published three children's books and two short flying stories, "Flame-out," and "That Lonesome Old Widow," which were published in Airline Pilot Magazine. He is presently writing a fiction suspence, adventure novel, "A Change of Heart," involving murder for the purpose of a heart transplant. Mike and his wife, Joan have lived in Colorado since 1967, residing in Highlands Ranch.
