After she falls asleep, Jack goes off with an old friend--a stuffed dog. Crisp, clear, full-color photographs of the boy and dog are overlaid and surrounded by simple line drawings. The bright, primary colors used throughout have great child appeal. The introductory note to parents points out that the book is designed to develop a sense of responsibility in youngsters and an awareness of their pet's needs.
