Review

"Daniel Grant has brought it all together in the Artist's Resource Handbook. This is the place for visual artists to start their search for professional information. Services, opportunities, and advocacy are abundant among the organizations assembled by Daniel Grant. This book is a key to opening doors for careers in the visual arts. I highly recommend Daniel Grant's The Artist's Resource Handbook to all practicing artists." -- George C. Koch, President National Artists Equity Association

"Daniel Grant has compiled a powerful tool for artists to identify, target, and obtain the resources they need to advance their work. From fellowships to free legal services, artists who use this book will save countless hours of legwork and research to get their careers on track." -- Graphic Artists Guild

"Filled with information about career assistance, arts organizations, funding sources, legal and accounting services, residency programs, networks, art colonies, safety issues and more. A handy reference tool for the working artist." -- Art Times

"Focused on providing working artists with practical suggestions for ways to stabilize or advance their careers . . . . The book will be particularly helpful to artists who might be on the move from one geographic area to another, or who are trying to expand their range of influence from the local to the national arena." -- Chicago Artist's News

"Grant's book is a good basic resource guide for visual artists. . . . his book is a useful starting point for the artist--particularly the novice. Recommended for all libraries with art collections." -- Choice

"Many organizations offer assistance to artists, but it's often difficult to find out about them, where they're located, what they offer, and how to approach them. This resource book offers much of that information. . ." -- American Artist

"More than a resource book on where to sell your work this volume brings together answers to many related questions artists might never have considered individually. The work encompasses information that students graduating from art programs will need to survive in today's art world. . . .

With the difficulty artists experience in today's market, a resource such as this volume should not be overlooked. Funding for art is down, and the struggle to make a living as an artist continues to grow. This volume brings together much needed information on the business and safety issues of art--issues that often go unnoticed in art school training or in public discussion." -- American Reference Books Annual

"The life of an artist is never easy, but many resources exist to help . . . Daniel Grant brings all of this information together in one complete, easy-to-use, economical volume." -- Antiques & the Arts Weekly
