The number of chemical ranking and scoring (CRS) systems developed in the past 20 years is estimated to be in the hundreds. These workshop participants developed a consensus framework and guidelines and principles for CRS in order to promote consistency in the development and application of CRS systems. Seventeen principles were developed to serve as guidance for those applying an existing CRS system or developing a new CRS system to meet specific goals.
