Book by Haege, Glenn

Haege, now host of the nationally syndicated call-in radio talk show Ask the Handyman, offers a compilation of his do-it-yourself columns from the Detroit News. Geared toward inexperienced readers who are trying to maintain their homes themselves, the book covers a wide range of home repair and maintenance projects in brief one- or two-page sections. The columns are arranged in the order that they originally appeared in the paper, so there is a seasonal order, but most readers will prefer the subject index. Haege also provides information to help consumers make buying decisions and offers a huge categorized list of companies and trade associations with telephone numbers and some web addresses (the majority are relevant nationwide). His radio show should spur patron demand, but that aside, the book is well written, has ready-reference potential, and belongs in all public library collections.
