About the Author
CHRISTOPHER VOGLER is author of the best-selling book The Writer‘s Journey: Mythic Structure for Writers. He was a studio executive at Fox 2000, which produced The Thin Red Line and Anna and the King. Vogler has served as story consultant on many Hollywood movies, including Disney’'s Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King. He now writes and produces in Hollywood and Europe.

Vogler's live presentation on using classic structures found in mythology to drive stories walks both sides of a narrow line. Live presentations delivered in audiobook form either capture the dynamism of the subject matter or fail to convey a "must see" performance. Vogler delivers both. All storytellers can benefit from Vogler's lessons, yet an abridged, more thoughtful, delineation of his methods would serve better. Clocking in at three-plus hours, this book could easily be trimmed to less than two by excising needless repetition and collecting better real-life examples hidden in Vogler's meandering lecture.
