About the Author

Diana Baumrind is Professor of Child Development and Head of the Family Socialization Project at University of California, Berkeley. Marvin W. Berkowitz is Sanford N. McDonnell Professor of Character Education and Director of the McDonnell Leadership Academy in Character Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Thomas Lickona is Professor of Education and Director of the Center for the 4th and 5th Rs (Respect and Responsibility), at the University of New York, Cortland. Larry P. Nucci is Professor Emeritus of Educational Psychology and Director of the Center for Studies of Moral Development and Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Marilyn Watson is past Head of the National Teacher Education Project and Program Director of the Child Development Project. She is also author of Discipline for Moral Growth (2007).
