This compact collection presents contributions to a 1994 Library Solutions Institute in Chicago, which addressed the matter of collaboration between libraries and computing centers at colleges and universities. The contributors have almost uniformly judged such collaboration to be a welcome and inevitable campus innovation resulting in efficient uses of technology, sharing of resources, and increased access to information. Four articles comprise the proceedings and express points of view from both libraries and computing centers. Three appendixes follow: the program agenda; a series of nine brief descriptions of largely successful collaborative projects; and a reprint of Sheila D. Creth's "Creating a Virtual Information Organization: Collaborative Relationships Between Libraries and Computing Centers," which participants were asked to read prior to attending the institute. Librarians and administrators at academic institutions will clearly enjoy the greatest benefit from these materials. Other librarians may find interesting the discussions of the stereotypical perceptions computing and library professionals hold of each other, which the institute sought to test and refine. The absence of an index is a minor shortcoming.?Dean C. Rowan, Whittier P.L., Cal.
