James C. Wetherbe is the Stevenson Chaired Professor in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He was formerly the FedEx Professor of Excellence in MIS at the University of Memphis, Professor of MIS and Director of the MIS Research Center at the University of Minnesota, and a Professor of MIS at the University of Houston. He has served in industry as a CIO, consultant, and an account manager as well as serving as a board member for several large companies. Jim is the author of 22 books and is internationally known as a dynamic and entertaining speaker and leading authority on the use of computer and information systems to improve organizational performance and competitiveness. He is particularly appreciated for his ability to explain complex technology in straightforward, practical terms that can be strategically applied by both executives and general management.
