YA-How unfortunate that the EC changed its name to the European Union as this book went to press! It gathers under one cover not only a complete history of the EU, but also how it works in relation to the sovereignty of its member states, monetary and market union problems and prospects, brief but pithy profiles of member countries, and future challenges, including expansion to countries with less-developed economics. Kauffman's clear, readable writing style makes this well-organized, easy-to-use title valuable for research.
