This book is about miracles. It is about the "works of God being made manifest" in our daily lives. It's not about stupendous or earth-shattering events, but about the small private moments where the Lord reveals his mighty arm. Miracles are simply those things which, without the direct intervention of the power and priesthood of God, we could not perform by our own strength or resources.

Elder Boyd K. Packer has stated, "Some people think a miracle is only a miracle if it happens instantaneously, but miracles can grow slowly and patience and faith can compel things to happen that otherwise never would have come to pass." In the equation of priesthood, miracles, and infinite power, some of us have forgotten the critical and often essential ingredient called time. Time, which we sometimes call our enemy, miracles paradoxically embrace as friend.

This is not just a story of tragedy, love, struggle, and triumph. It is a message of hope, faith, power and miracles. It is my solemn testimony that there are, as Spencer W. Kimball declared, "infinitely more miracles today than in any age past and just as wondrous." Perhaps, with the help and influence of the Spirit, you and I may have "new eyes to see and new hearts to understand."
