It may be for a matron in the suburbs whose telephone number is on the school forms of a dozen children for "emergency," because she is the only mother home in her neighborhood. A grandmother may see it in a bookstore and send it to "my daughter in Peoria who has two pre-schoolers." A working woman may pick it up to help her unwind after a stressful day’s work. A home-educating mother may want to read "adult literature," but not have time for a novel.
Anyone who has or likes children, who cooks, cleans, or sews, has frustrations, loves picnics, the Fourth of July, and redbirds, will identify with these analogies that draw our attention to the Word of God.

About the Author
Mary Boyd Alley is the mother of five children and nine grandchildren. She and her husband are missionaries after having been in the pastorate for 38 years. They live in Virginia and travel the world for Christ.
