PreSchool-Grade 2 This book is intended for use by parents with children to help them feel at ease and safe in the water. It teaches simple skills such as floating, jumping in, gliding, and proper breathing with gamelike exercises, each introduced by a poem. Throughout, the text emphasizes safety and correct technique. Fun, imaginative, and colorful illustrations enhance the lessons. This title would be excellent preparation for children before beginning swimming lessons. Because it is "splash-proof," with thick, glossy pages and a plastic spiral binding, it is intended for poolside use and is best for home ownership rather than libraries.
