Vasant Lad is an Ayurvedic physician who teaches at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Night after night, he imparts his wisdom and practical knowledge about the healing science of Ayurveda to his students. He also advises clients and sees numerous patients daily when he is India. He lectures and conducts workshops on Ayurveda throughout the world. His is a busy and productive life.
Amidst all this activity, he is also a devoted practitioner of the philosophy he teaches: the ancient wisdom of the Vedas, teachings revealed in meditation to the seers from India's earliest recorded history. He is as recognized for his deep and heartfelt wisdom as he is for his comprehensive knowledge of Ayurveda. His students note his words on meditation and transcendental states as fervently as they record the details of Ayurvedic medicine. Dr. Lad literally lives what he teaches: a balance between body, mind and spirit. In these pages, entwined with the teachings of the Vedas, are his personal experiences of consciousness and beingness, revealing his purity of heart and devotion to every soul who enters his presence.
