This cheeky, offbeat novel is part environmental thriller, part romance, and all fun. Go Blue revolves around a harebrained scheme (but based on an actual proposal) to drain water from the Great Lakes to make the deserts of Las Vegas bloom.
The pipeline plan sets loose an improbable but entertaining cascade of murder, high-stakes gambling, love, and unquenchable thirst for power, money, and sex. Throw in a little death and resurrection, religious fundamentalism, Machiavellian politics, and rock 'n' roll music, and you're in for a rollicking good ride.

The novel is set mostly in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan, and on the nearby Lake Michigan coastline. Mitch Miller is a lawyer and University of Michigan graduate, who teams up with an Ottawa ex-Marine and medicine man to try to save the clear blue waters from being sold to the highest bidder. But they soon run up against some bad guys who have other ideas.
This is high-energy, irreverent fiction.
About the Author
Jack Beam is a lawyer who specializes in high-profile cases involves children. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Northwestern Law School, he resides in Colorado and spends his summer in Michigan. Like most first novels, this story is autobiographical, except for all the good parts.
