From Chapter 1: Do you often feel that you are surrounded by idiots? To me they seem to be everywhere. They are in my office, on the job, attempting to wait on me, in the classroom, even in my home. In fact, it is entirely possible that you, the person who is attempting to read this book right now, could even be a complete idiot.

What can be the real tragedy about this deluge of bumbling incompetence is that many people who are incredibly stupid and terminally obnoxious don't even realize it! Do you know how annoying it is when people who don't know how dumb they are try to act smart?

Most idiots were stuck bumbling around and doing embarrassing things forever while the rest of us were forced to try to either avoid them, or just tolerate their stupidity.
