Synopsis
In 1993 I wrote the book The Falconer's Apprentice. It filled a niche in American falconry. It focused on just two things: the red-tailed hawk and the apprentice falconer. The book helped many apprentices learn more quickly how to handle, care for, train, and hunt with their first hawk. When American Falconry magazine came along, I suggested to the editors that I write a column for the apprentice falconer. I submitted a few articles to show them that there was still more to say about red-tailed hawks - and about becoming a falconer. They named it Beginners Circle. This book is a collection of those articles.
