About the Author

Richard Lapchick is a human rights activist, pioneer for racial equality, internationally recognized expert on sports issues, scholar, and author. He is the DeVos Eminent Scholar Chair and Director of the Sport Business Management Graduate Program in the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida. He founded both the Northeastern University Center for the Study of Sport in Society and the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), and he is now the president and chief executive officer of the Consortium. His most recent book is 100 Pioneers: African Americans Who Broke Color Barriers in Sport
