About the Author
Mark Vollmer is an award-winning photographer, freelance writer and geologist based in Reno, Nevada. His illustrated feature articles have appeared in Nevada Magazine, and his images have been widely published in regional books and calendars.
Scott Sady has been a professional news photographer for more than a decade. His images have appeared in Time, Life, Newsweek and National Geographic. He moved to Reno in 1998.
