About the Author:

David Antin is a poet, critic, and performance artist. His background includes graduate work in linguistics at New York University. He has pursued a career as a poet since 1955 and that of an art critic since 1964. He has served as Educational Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, and was Director of the UC-San Diego Mandeville Gallery, where he assembled exhibitions by artists Alex Katz, Tom Wesselman, and others. Among his published books are "Code of Flag Behavior, After the War, Talking at the Boundaries, Turning, What it Means to be Avant-Garde," and others.
