About the Author:
Stephen Vlachos, CKD, CBD, is co-owner of Atlantic Kitchen Center in Portland, Maine. With 19 years of sales experience in the kitchen and bathroom industry, he has held NKBA leadership positions at both the state and national level. Stephen has been a columnist for Kitchen and Bath Design News and a featured speaker at NKBA conferences.
Leslie Vlachos, M.Ed., is co-owner of Atlantic Kitchen Center in Portland, Maine. She holds active leadership roles at the state level for NKBA and the Maine Interior Design Association. Leslie has a corporate training backgound and 10 years of sales experience in the kitchen and bathroom industry. She has joined Stephen as a featured speaker at NKBA conferences.
Jointly, Stephen and Leslie have founded, managed and nurtured four businesses to profitability. Each busines was profitably sold. In 1987, the Vlachos resummed ownership of their former business, Atlantic Kitchen Center, with its $400,000 debt. The success of their business turnaround was profiled in the October 1993 issue of Kitchen and Bath Design News.
