Clark Benson and Alex Gordon have known each other since the 2nd grade, when they shared a cubby tray in Mrs. Pringle's Class. Clark attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where he wrote features for the Daily Illini and even penned the infamous "Campus Scout" column in the grand tradition of Gene Shalit and Artie Johnson. Alex attended the University of Michigan where he worked as an editor for the Michigan Daily and created the weekly "Alex about Town" column. Alex also has a graduate degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. In addition to their writing experience, both Clark and Alex were well-rounded college animals. Clark majored in finance and was a member of a concert production group, worked for the campus radio station, managed and tended bar at a campus nightclub, was an officer of his fraternity, and ate his fair share of late night burritos. Alex majored in his native tongue, English, and was president of his dorm floor, played two years of lacrosse, wrote comedy sketches for a university improv group, worked at a sandwich joint and as a sorority busboy (only because of the free Pop-Tarts). Clark currently resides in Los Angeles and is the founder of the OASIS CD Listening Station Program, a music marketing company, as well as a partner in the Off/Beat Music record store in Redondo Beach, CA. Alex lives in Chicago where he is the managing editor of Ziff-Davis Internet Underground Magazine and still holds out hope that some day he'll take over the "Goofus and Gallant" column in Highlights for Kids.
