Few books in the water sciences emphasize aquifer test analysis. Aquifer Test Data: Evaluation and Analysis, using common language and carefully constructed illustrations, covers the pragmatic methods in depth. It is intended as a text for courses in aquifer test analysis and as a reference for ground-water professionals. The mathematics have been enhanced by numerous illustrations which help explain the concepts and equations. Extensive chapters detail Theisian; recovery; step-drawdown; production well; and well field analysis. Additional chapters provide methods to estimate the storage coefficient and simple modeling equations which can predict drawdown over time and distance, once transmissivity and the storage coefficient have been determined. What separates this book from other books that emphasize aquifer test analysis is its common sense approach and explicit examples for graphical and non-graphical solutions. New and improved equations not found in other books are contained within these chapters. This is a condensed version from the book Applied Ground-Water Hydrology and Well Hydraulics 3rd edition, with additional information and more equations added to better access aquifer test data in the field, in the office, or in the classroom. It is an easy read and an essential tool for any ground-water consultant's library.

Dr. Michael Kasenow is one of Water Resources Publications highly regarded and respected authors for over twenty years. He is an innovative researcher in the field of aquifer analysis. He has been certified by the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and is a major player in the organization and development of the current hydrogeology and environmental curriculums at Eastern Michigan University. For two years he was Director of Research for the Southwest Regional Ground Water Education in Michigan Center (SER-GEMS). He received his Bachelor of Science in Geology from EMU, and his MS and Ph.D. from Western Michigan University. Dr. Kasenow is the author or co-author of over sixty scientific publications, which includes software, monographs, and 12 books on the subject of aquifer analysis. His publications include the popular Applied Ground-Water Hydrology and Well Hydraulics; Theis Made Easy; Production Well Analysis; Recovery Analysis; Aquifer Parameter Estimator; Analysis and Design of Step-Drawdown Tests; Easy to Use Tables of Specific Capacity; and Determination of Hydraulic Conductivity from Grain Size Analysis. Dr. Kasenow s methods and books have been utilized on virtually every continent for a multitude of purposes, in the classroom as textbooks, as well as in the field and in consulting work. Dr. Kasenow s research is primarily concerned with the estimation of aquifer parameters, and the relationship between lakes, rivers, wetlands, and ground water. He remains actively involved in environmental and hydrogeology issues.
