About the Author
Deborah is the president and founder of American Historic Inns, Inc. She has authored more than 40 books on bed & breakfasts andcountry inns. Each year, she travels throughout the country viewinghundreds of bed & breakfast inns. She has taught classes on startingand operating an inn. Through her publications and marketing effortswith some of America's most well-known corporations, she hasintroduced millions of travelers to bed & breakfast inns.

This first edition of an annual guide devoted exclusively to historic B&B accommodations includes over 2000 inns and guesthouses. Most entries provide the usual information about location, cost, etc. There are no ratings. Some entries are very basic, while others are richly descriptive. The handsome pen-and-ink sketches are a plus. Books with broader coverage, e.g., Pamela Lanier's Complete Guide to Bed & Breakfasts, Inns and Guesthouses (LJ 10/1/84; Muir, 1986. rev. ed.), will be more useful in most libraries.
