Lowell Park - Softcover

9781888223538: Lowell Park
Join Jenny Brix as she travels back to a simpler time, where Ronald Reagan is still a small-town lifeguard and Illinois afternoons are spent with your favorite girl at Lowell Park. In this historical novel from Mike Chapman, readers are caught in a time warp to the early 1900's. The book centers around Dixon, a small town in Illinois that was the center stage for two of our most prominent presidents - hometown of Ronald "Dutch" Reagan, and battleground for a young soldier named Abe Lincoln. Blending both fantasy and fact, Lowell Park is an entertaining and informational look back at the origin of some of our country's most influential figures.

About the Author:
In 2002, Mike Chapman retired from a 35-year career as a newspaper editor, writer and publisher, including ten years as executive editor of The Telegraph in Dixon, Illinois. During the Dixon period, he and his wife, Bev, and three children lived just one-half mile from Lowell Park and visited it frequently. He met Ronald Reagan on October 30, 1990, when the former President returned to Dixon for the final time. Mr. Chapman considers meeting Ronald "Dutch" Reagan one of the highlights of his life. Lowell Park is his fifteenth book of 21 books. Lowell Park has been purchased by a Hollywood film company and is being considered for a major motion picture to begin shooting in 2010.
