To that end there is a dating guide going back to 1934. What era is the drum i just bought from ? There is also a very broad photo galleery of famous (or not) drummers : Cozy Cole, Frank Sehrer,and Barrett Deems are examples. There is a multi-page biography on Gene Krupa including his relationships with Benny Goodman and Sanford E. Moeller. Read more about : Timpani, Hide Beaters, marimba, Wood shells, XZoomatic Strainer, manufacturing, Leedy, endorsees, Peter Erskine, and Novak Drum Supply. INDEX included. Choc-a-bloc with b/w photos. Some in colour. Lots of tabular data that would aid researchers. Even a Slingerland family tree which emphasizes Harry Heanon Slingerland - born 1875. Cond : Paper wrapper is black with white and pink lettering. Cover image is of a snare drum (close-up) from the 1928 to 1933 period. Edges rubbed, spine fine. Clean and bright. No names , creases, nor marks. Binding tight. Excellent reference.
