She has 45 years of apparel construction experience, extensive experience in freelance design, and 38 years of classroom teaching experience. She teaches fashion design at Texas Woman's University. Cynthia Istook hold a B.S in Merchandising, Clothing, and Textiles and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Textiles and Clothing. She has 30 years experience in apparel construction and broad experience in freelance design, merchandising and retailing as a practitioner. She teaches Apparel Technology and Management at North Carolina State University.
