The Finding is the first of a five book series by Western author Bud Jones.
In The Finding, the Old West comes to life dramatically. Zack and Doreen Thomas are separated as a result of a vicious Indian attack on the wagon train which was to transport them to a new land of promises, great expectations and fortune. After the attack, Zack is left alone to search for his captured sister. In all, he is forced to endure endless, tortuous winters and a multitude of of troubles as he grows older and perservers in the search for his captive sibling.
The Finding is a tale steeped in the traditions of the Old West. The language is authentic and the descriptions are breathtaking. The story is a real treat for anyone who longs for stories of times long ago.
All of his life Bud Jones has had a love affair with the Old West and wildlife. A great part of that interest was fostered by a year of living in the heart of Wyoming with his wife, Jackie. There he studied the land, the people, the history and the abundant wildlife of the area.
Bud Jones has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Georgia. After a two year hitch in the Army, where he entertained as a folk singer, he taught high school for six years. Among his other credits, Bud is a Baptist Deacon and has had his own weekly television show.
Currently, Bud Jones is a widely known and well respected taxidermist. His specialty is large animals with two life sized elephants to his credit. In the fields of taxidermy and wilderness biology, Bud is considered to be a highly respected expert and consultant.
