Synopsis
Parkside, Pennsylvania police detective David Dean is recuperating from a gunshot wound in tranquil Ouray County, Colorado when his peaceful convalescence is abruptly interrupted by five eccentric and unwanted guests. The group's unusual interest in the old settlement of Byrd Song above the ghost town of Sneffles catapults Dean and his stepfather Fred back a century in time where much detective work is needed to find the startling answers.

While "Time Trial" was the first published mystery in the David Dean series, "Skip Case," a later-published prequel, tells the story of how David and Cynthia first met.
About the Author
R. E. Derouin is the author of a dozen award winning theater plays and six novels in the David Dean mystery set in Ouray, Colorado. He is now living in Arizona where he enjoys the sunshine as he continues to write. He has written "Crime Time", a stand-alone mystery and a family love story, "Enough to Miss Christmas." "Fridays." is his ninth novel, released on Kindle in 2014.
Mr. Derouin and is at work on a new book.
