Keller and Hawkins combine teaching and professional television news experience. Keller worked in TV news for seven years as an anchor, reporter, and talk show host. Currently, she is professor of mass communications at Emory & Henry College. In summer 2000, she was one of 15 national broadcast educators selected to participate in RTNDF's 1st annual Excellence in Journalism Education Project. As part of that program, Keller worked in a major market TV newsroom. She has also continued her professional involvement by producing independent videos, serving as TV news consultant to area organizations, and conducting media campaigns for political candidates.
Hawkins has more than 20 year's experience as news director in a mid-size market. In addition to his TV reporting, anchoring, and management work, he teaches broadcasting courses at East Tennessee State University.
