This is a life story account of a young lady who has Dejerine-Sottas Neuropathy, an inherited neurological disorder that progressively affects mobility. She writes, "In a walking world, I stumble. In a world of gliding striders, I stomp. In an athletic world, I sit on the sidelines. In a jumping world, I don't. In a creative world, I imagine. In an academic world, I learn. In a musical world, my stereo is always playing. In a game playing world, I am hard to beat. In a reading world, I am never without my glasses. In a world of stairs, I use elevators.

My name is Dennise N. Kelly. I've always enjoyed reading and writing. After dropping out of college for medical reasons, I sat down to write the book I had begun ten years ago. I wanted to tell in my own words what life was like growing up with a disability.Review:
Dennise gave us a book that is fast reading, easy to understand, and one that you can't put down. It is very informative and makes you feel like "you are there" at all times. -- Linda K. Haberaecker, Instructor, Detroit College of Business,
I thought that Ms. Kelly's book was a reflection of Dennise. I thought the titles to the chapters and the title of the book was very catchy. When I read it, I heard her. Also, Dennise has the unique gift of being a great story teller. I do not think that anyone else could have done her story justice. The story is about her life, and she has just begun to start living. The book is a good indication that the best is yet to come . . . -- Aaron Baloney, Alexandria, VA
There were many parts of this book that were very moving. For example, the chapters about her being in the hospital and just barely pulling through it, had lot of heart and spirit. I, also, liked the way Dennise described the procedures that she had to endure. It was fun to find out about the subtle idiosyncrasies of relationships between Dennise and her relatives. Readers will identify well with that. It is a great book and very enjoyable to read. -- Harvey Greene, Teacher, Baldwin, MO
