About the Author

G. L. Brookover is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of West Virginia University with a B.A. and M.A. in communication studies. She is a freelance landscape photographer and avid weather enthusiast. Brookover has been recognized as an outstanding faculty member at Fairmont State University. She has traveled extensively through Tornado Alley, researching the history of the most violent weather on record. A member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, Brookover has served as a public school volunteer as science team leader. Her students worked extensively on projects flown by NASA on suborbital launches from NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The student work had also been accepted for flight on the space shuttle and for flight to the International Space Station. Brookover lives with her family in West Virginia.
