Based on true stories of modern-day piracy, human trafficking, smuggling, and the drug trade involving the theft of charter vessels and private yachts in the Caribbean and Central America, Kidnapped from the Caribbean is a fast-paced thriller of intrigue and corruption. From stonewalling bureaucrats in the White House and the convoluted involvement of the CIA and Interpol, to a wild voyage across the windswept empty stretches of the Caribbean Sea, to Central America and the rain forests of the Amazon, Kidnapped from the Caribbean tells a story of power, money, greed and a vast treasure that drives men to murder and war. A senator’s daughter is inadvertently caught up in a yacht theft and goes missing. Destined to become a sex slave in a third world country, her situation is desperate. But due to partisan politics, the White House seems unwilling to assist her distraught parents in locating her. Enter the experienced investigative team of Brice Cannon and Juliet Sparks, sent to recover a stolen charter yacht who soon find themselves undercover and deeply immersed in the inner circle of Colombian warlords. But are they in too deep this time?

Todd Duff leads an adventurous life not unlike that of his lead character. He began sailing at an early age, became a sailplane pilot at age 16, has been involved in mountain climbing, scuba diving and spelunking and his interests include anthropology and archaeology. He is a former professional musician and has been involved in the yachting industry since 1982 where he has worked as a marine contractor and a yacht broker, holds current credentials as an accredited marine surveyor and is a well-known writer for many of the popular sailing magazines. Todd has sailed extensively with his children as crew and while homeschooling them in various countries, raised them to be lovers of the sea. He is a passionate adventurer and has been involved in long distance sailing for the past three decades; Since 1987 he has spent twelve out of the last thirty years sailing full time, traveling to and exploring thirty-one countries. After recently completing a six-year sailing adventure through the Caribbean, Central and South America and the North and South Pacific, Todd has returned to the Caribbean and currently lives aboard his sailboat in the British Virgin Islands where he is completing the next installment in the Cannon and Sparks series, and is already planning his next great adventure.
