About the Author

Bonnie S. Mohnsen is the county coordinator in the areas of physical education and integrated technology for the Orange County Department of Education in Costa Mesa, California. She is also the owner and a programmer for Bonnie's Fitware, which develops affordable software for use in physical education. A former physical educator with experience at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels, Bonnie now spends much of her time giving presentations and writing articles on how other physical educators can improve their programs and use technology to make their teaching easier and more effective.

Bonnie received her PhD in physical education administration from the University of Southern California in 1984. In 1990, she established the California Physical Education Electronic Bulletin Board which served as a model for physical education web pages. Dr. Mohnsen has received grants for using computers in education, including a $100,000 IBM Partnership Grant for using technology to teach biomechanic concepts in physical education.

Bonnie is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance and the International Society for Technology in Education. Her favorite leisure-time activities include jogging, hiking, swimming, boating, reading, and computer programming.
