David M. Baird, Ph.D., was the founding director of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller, Alberta, and of the National Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa, Ontario. A geologist by training, Baird is also a writer, a poet and an expert on museums, trains, ships and lighthouses.
