Synopsis

The Cathedrals of France, Belgium and Western Germany are constructed on the sites of the first Christian churches. These churches were built on the sites of Celtic/Druid temples or on the sites of Roman temples, which were themselves constructed on ancient Celtic religious sites. Today, we are able to discern an enduring pattern to the Cathedrals, which clues us to a massive 300-mile long feat of architecture implemented between 500 and 2000 years before Christ. At that time, a copy of the constellation of Ursa Major (The Big Dipper) was embedded into the landscape of Northern Europe. The dimensions of the construction are Greek and link us directly to the works of Plato and the Book of Revelations through the ancient science of Gematria (numerology). Inside the construction is a pattern that contains all the elements intrinsic to the grail stories: The lance, the sword, the cup, the stone, the wounded knight, the round table and Arthur are all clearly visible. The pointer stars of this construction point towards the mysterious village of Rennes-le-Chateau as a possible location for the Pole Star. The seven stars themselves include the cathedrals at Chartres, St Quentin, Rheims and Verdun and one of the most ancient Celtic forts in Europe on the hilltop fortress of Donnersberg. In the twelfth century when the construction of the Gothic cathedrals commenced, the Cistercian order and certain Lords involved in the establishment of the Knights Templar founded a series of Abbeys that were precisely located to fit the secret pattern on the ground. It is clear from the organisation of construction that this was no co-incidence and that someone involved in the establishment of these Abbeys knew of the secret. The essential design may even lie behind the employment of the Stars and Stripes on the American flag.

About the Author

Greg Rigby was born in Lancashire in 1943 and spent his childhood in the town of St Helens. His parents were devout Catholics and it was not unexpected therefore that he spent his Sundays singing in the church choir. During his teenage years he interrupted his period at the local grammar school to spend two years at a seminary in Berkshire. The time spent there had a profound effect on him, taught him to be contemplative and to be at peace with the environment. In 1961 he went to Liverpool University, where he graduated in mathematics and also made a significant contribution to the life there. Greg's career started in the motor industry in 1967, specialising in marketing. He established his own training company in 1975 and grew it so that by the end of 1989 the company had become a PLC. Two years later he retired to a renovated farmhouse in the foothills of the Pyrenees. There, without the distractions of a demanding business environment he was able to concentrate on his research and his writing.

From the Back Cover

On Earth as it is in Heaven shows how a magnificent yet simple series of patterns link the key cathedrals in Northern France and is a precise and accurate foundation for the Grail legends as they have been handed down to us. The 150 illustrations indicate clearly that the Druids duplicated 'The Great Bear' on the ground and incorporated designs which represented the stories that they associated with this unique constellation. The overall conception is revealed by the direct links from the ground pattern with Avebury, Stonehenge, Philae in southern Egypt and Jerusalem. The location of the pattern in relation to these places, its 302.4 mile span from the centre of Chartres Cathedral to the centre of the Celtic Ringwall at Donnersberg in Germany and the complimentary position of the ancient Paris meridian all denote an undertaking that was greater than the Pyramids in its conception. The measurements that were used seem to link the Egyptian, Greek and Imperial units of measure, indicating a universal numerical constant. Its design and conception may well have been by the Arcadians who it is often proposed were the direct descendants of the tribe of Benjamin. Greg Rigby shows an undeniable awareness of this Druidic pattern by the first Cistercians and a direct link with the mysterious village of Rennes-le-Chateau which has been the subject of many books since the 1970's. This book is the product of new and original research and illustrates the facts that the seekers of ancient truth will not be able to disregard. In the future, it will probably be considered to be the source book for those who wish to understand the ways out ancient ancestors regarded the heavens.

From the Inside Flap

In ancient times when there were no electric lights, no gas lights and no television, the night sky and the pictures made by the stars it contains was one of the most significant factors in the determination of the religious beliefs of the human race. The stars that seemed to move and which we now know are planets of the solar system, were considered to be Gods and given names which persist until today: Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune, Venus, Saturn and Mercury are all names that conjure pictures from the myths of long ago. As the earth spins on its axis, the heavens appeared to revolve around the pole of the ecliptic. Close to the pole is a group of seven stars that seemed to lead this infinite revolution and which was considered to be a chariot carrying Elias, Minos, David, Thor, Odin, Osiris, Arthur and Our Saviour endlessly around the starry heavens every twenty-four hours. The geometry of this sacred configuration was long ago duplicated in Northern Europe and led to its own unique brand of myths, which still spin their magic charms to the present day.

There is an exact straight line between Notre Dame St Quentin, Notre Dame Verdun, Ephesus and Jerusalem. (Fig 86) Remarkably, in the other direction the same line goes through the Celtic stone circle at Avebury. I could not and do not believe that this is simply a co-incidence. It would have been understandable if the cathedrals in St Quentin and Verdun were oriented towards Jerusalem in reverence of Christ, which they are not. To have the line that joins the two of them oriented accurately towards Jerusalem made me think once more about the methods that had been used to fix the locations of these cathedrals. Who had designed this master plan, who had ensured its execution and, more importantly, why? I do not have high resolution maps of either Ephesus or Jerusalem and it will be necessary for me to return to these places with hand held survey equipment, which will allow me to identify the correct co-ordinates of all the key ground positions. When this is done, I will know the exact sites in Jerusalem and Ephesus that lie on the Avebury, St Quentin, Verdun line. In view of the link between Qt Quentin, Verdun and the Middle East, I looked carefully at the seven stars of The Plough to see if any other alignments existed. What I found was in some ways even more extraordinary than the extended St Quentin - Verdun line. The line from Abbey St Ouen in Rouen which I already knew went through the centre of Bonne Mare and Notre Dame in Paris, when projected onwards, goes directly to the Temple of Isis at Philae on Southern Egypt: St Ouen Rouen - Bonne Mare - Notre Dame Paris - Temple of Isis, Philae.
